Buying Gifts

It is that time of the year again when I am trying to decide what to buy the children for Christmas. Mine are quite easy to buy for as they have told me what they want, but it is my nieces that I always have difficulties with. They have so many toys that I am not sure that they really need any more. I saw some childrens wooden toys which were lovely and I know they do not have any of those but I am concerned that they will not look after them very well and they will get spoilt. I did start looking at toy kitchens but then I remembered that they used to have one in their garden and got rid of it when they moved house so I guess they did not like it that much. I am also considering a kids table and chairs as when we visit there is not enough room around the table and it may help them out. I do sometimes think that if they do not have an item it is because they do not want it and so I am really stuck as to what to get. Perhaps I should ask them if there is anything that they need.

Party Time

My sons have just been to their first grown up birthday party. A friend has just turned five and he had a really big party. There were lots of games including musical statues and pass the parcel. There was a great party hats game where everyone had to make a hat and there was a judge to choose which of the birthday hats was, the best. There was a disco as well and lots of really good food and drinks. There was, even enough cakes for the parents to have some. It must have taken a lot of organising and it was nice to see all of the children really enjoying themselves and behaving really well too. They came home with a slice of delicious chocolate birthday cake, sweets and some toys. She had great party supplies as they had a pencil topper, spinning top, farm animals, pencils and badges. So much thought went in to the event that I will have a real job trying to do a better party when I have to organise one for my sons. Maybe I will have to just do something completely different like a cinema trip instead or maybe a game of ten pin bowling.

The brillance of blue

Turquoise is a beautiful gem known for its wonderful hue. Though its colors vary from green to blue, Persian turquoise is one of the best and has a clear blue color. It is not a very hard stone but with some care one can wear turquoise jewelry regularly. The cost of the jewelry can vary, depending on the color, purity of the stone and on which metal it is set. In jewelry, turquoise stone is usually present as cabochons and it is used for bracelets, earrings, rings and pendants. Turquoise jewelry is timeless and can be worn anytime, and any season. Due to its brilliant hue, turquoise earrings or necklaces, pendants are set in white metal like silver or white gold and not yellow gold. Usually turquoise jewelry only contains this as the dominant gemstone due to its brilliant color. Turquoise drop earrings can complement any dress and style.

Turquoise rings are generally worn by December born people, as it is December birth stone. Blue turquoise cabochon rings are very sought after. Cabochons do full justice to this vibrant colored stone. Turquoise necklace or earrings set with diamonds looks very bewitching and can be pretty expensive. One can go for cheaper alternatives like turquoise sets in sterling silver.
